The Smiley Thumb Award

Morning everyone! Today I would like to begin by thanking Gwin for nominating me for this award! I would also like you all to go show her some support and follow her as she has a great blog 🙂

Picture2.pngSo all blogging awards/ tags have rules, the ones for this award is as follows:

  • Include the photo of the Smiley Thumb award (It took me a while to figure out how to do that)
  • Thank the person who nominated you and provide a link to their blog (see above)
  • Tell us what makes you smile (see below)
  • Nominate as many bloggers as you like (also see below)
  • Include these rules in your post.

So here we go for things that make me smile:

People:

I assume most would list family and friends as number one, because COME ON. So of course, I love to spend time with my loved ones. Especially my 7 months old niece Isra because she is an absolute delight and her smile makes me smile. I also like random strangers who try to make an effort. Honestly, it doesn’t take much to smile and say hello!

Memories:

I absolutely love recalling the ‘good old times’ – I have a strange habit of going through my Instagram timeline (and sometimes my sisters’ too!) and looking at all the photos we have posted so far – I like to think about where and what we were doing during the time/ day of the photo and it makes me smile

Kids:

The best thing about children is that you can become a kid yourself again and it is the best feeling ever. I love how innocent kids can be, and having said that, they don’t all choose to do so, and trust me; kids seem to prefer to be evil nowadays. So I always go through this phase where I adore the kid for like a few hours and then I’m like please get this child away from me.

 Journalling:

So I’ve mentioned my art journal before – I love to be able to take out a few hours here and there (this doesn’t happen as often as I would unfortunately!) and create beautiful pages in my journal.

Self-accepting people:

I love people who are truly comfortable with themselves. I think it takes a lot of courage to see your flaws, accept them and love them. We live in a world where we are often embarrassed by our weaknesses and do our best to hide these, so I love bold people who are not afraid, and present their true self.

Praying:

Nothing makes me smile like having some quite time to pray or mediate. I love to given the opportunity to pray peacefully in the comfort of my own warm room. Things get all the better if my room is dark and I have no time constraints (I sometimes have to rush prayers if I need to get somewhere like work).

I would like to nominate the following for this award.

Sorry I don’t know how to do that linking thing yet, so I have to personally contact you all to let you know! If someone could tell me how to do this, that would be great! Please also notify when you have done your post so I am aware and can check out your answers – enjoy!

  4. Thank you so much for nominating me! I just figured out the pingback thing, so I’ll share with you how to do it. All you do is go to a page or a post (usually I do their about page) and link to that rather than to their main page. It doesn’t work if it’s the home page, it has to be another page or post. Hope that helps! 🙂

    1. Thanks Chloe, but still a little bit closed- where is the pingback button? I know you can do links whilst writing a post up which is what I do at the moment but this doesn’t notify the blogger?

      1. There’s no button. If you link to any page or post on their blog instead of to their home page, it should notify them. So for instance if I link to https://naztastic.wordpress.com/ in my post, you won’t be notified. But if I link to https://naztastic.wordpress.com/about/, you’d get a notification. 🙂
