Hi guys! As I’m sure you are all aware, the month of fasting has finally arrived! In case you’re not sure what Ramadan is all about, as previously mentioned it is a month (29 or 30 days, depending on when the moon for Eid is sighted) dedicated to fasting. The whole point of abstaining from food, is because its serves as a reminder to muslims – if we can abstain from things which are usually permitted (such as food and drink), then why can’t we abstain from prohibited things i.e. sins? So in essence, this month is all about control.
This month is also about a religious boost. Most muslims increase their worship by participating in additional prayers for example. This helps us to get closer to our Lord and remind us of our purpose in life. So during this month, we try to keep away from other worldly distractions such as social media and solely focus on religion.
As such, I am taking a break from blogging for a while – you may have already noticed that over the last couple of days I have been a bit inactive (sorry about this!). I probably won’t disappear altogether as I am so addicted to WordPress so you may occasionally find a like or comment from me – there probably won’t be any posts from me though!
